Cost: $765/week Ages: 10 – 15 years Time: 8AM-4PM
All of our camps are active but this one finds the adventurer in us. We will travel the Bay Area in search of thrills and chills. Try your hand, and mind, at paddle boarding and then set sail aboard a boat bound for fun and adventure. Kayak the bay while looking for sea lions and rock climb steep indoor cliffs. In Active camp at UAC you will challenge yourself mentally and physically while having the time of your life. All of these activities are run by different companies around the Bay that are listed below.
Note: Campers need to know how to ride a bike for the mountain biking day or will not be allowed to ride.
Day 1 : Kayaking by California Canoe and Kayak (Oakland)
Day 2 : Rock Climbing by Pacific Pipe (Oakland)
Day 3 : Stand Up Paddleboarding by CityKayak (SF)
Day 4 : Mountain Biking by Trips for Kids (Pt. Pinole)
Day 5 : Sailing by Encinal Yacht Club (Alameda)
***(Days may not be in the specific order above, and some locations may be changed with a location of equal or greater quality.)
Note: All days have our primary activities listed above. Depending on the mood of the group and the continued excitement of the campers, instructors may take the group to extra activity locations.
Extra activity locations for this week may include: Discovery Museum, Golden Gate Park, Crissy Field, The Wave Organ, Redwood Park, UC Berkeley Campus, Fort Mason, Pier 39, SF Maritime Museum, Golden Gate Park Arboretum, Berkeley Botanical Gardens, Tilden Park, Claremont Canyon Regional Preserve
June 24-June 28 – Rockridge BART
July 29-August 2 – North Berkeley BART
August 5-9 – Rockridge BART
The cost for a full week of Active camp is $765
With payment of camp fee, everything is included except lunch and pre and post day care (pre and post care are only available for camps at Rockridge BART). All museum entrance fees, transportation costs, instruction, and two snacks per day are included.
In cases of dismissal or voluntary withdrawal, there is no refund of fees. Any cancellation at least two weeks prior to the start of the registered session will result in a refund of 75% of the camp fees less the deposit. Cancellations with notice of less than two weeks will result in a refund of 25% of the camp fee less the deposit. Cancellation the week of camp or a no-show on the day of camp will result in a full loss of payment. If a camper does not show for a registered session without notice, there will be no refund issued.
All camps meet and depart from the designated BART station. If you are interested in having UAC run any of the programs from another BART station or on a week they are not offered, please check out UAC Come to Me.
